Sonia, Rahul Gandhi meet Mauritius PM Navinchandra Ramgoolam in Delhi
Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday met Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, in Delhi.
Dr Ramgoolam, who holds the honours of GCSK and FRCP, is on an official visit to India.
The meeting took place amid his wider engagements with Indian leaders to strengthen bilateral ties between Port Louis and New Delhi.
While details of the discussions were not officially disclosed, party sources said the talks underscored India’s historic and cultural links with Mauritius, with emphasis on people-to-people connect and cooperation across sectors.
During his visit from September 9 to 16, PM Ramgoolam toured key cultural and economic hubs including Mumbai, Varanasi, Ayodhya and Tirupati.
