SpiceJet has sealed a lease agreement to induct five Boeing 737 aircrafts into its fleet by October 2025 in a bid to ramp up capacity ahead of the winter rush and early summer demand in 2026.

The aircrafts will be bought in on a damp lease basis, meaning the operational crew will be shared between SpiceJet and the leasing partner.

The airline official said that the induction is aimed at strengthening the airline’s schedule during the peak winter travel period, with continued deployment expected into the following season.

“We are pleased to finalise this lease agreement for the induction of five Boeing 737 aircrafts. This addition will significantly strengthen our fleet and enable us to deliver a superior flying experience to our passengers. We are actively exploring further fleet additions as we prepare for a robust winter schedule," Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer, SpiceJet, said.

The move comes as part of the airline’s broader plan to scale up domestic and international operations.
