The School of Architecture and Interior Design at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur campus, hosted a Sand Art Campaign at Elliot’s Beach, Chennai.

Addressing the critical theme of ocean pollution, it aimed at raising environmental awareness through the power of sand and creativity.

Open to the public, the campaign aimed to encourage community participation and dialogue around the environmental impact of human actions. Students and faculty transformed sand into striking artistic expressions that reflect the urgency of protecting oceans and freshwater ecosystems.

In a press release, the organisers said: “Through sand, sea, and storytelling, we are sculpting a movement.” Through this initiative, the institute hopes to spark meaningful dialogue, nurture a sense of shared responsibility and inspire collective action for a cleaner, healthier environment.
