New Delhi, August 3
A day after the Centre repatriated BSF chief Nitin Agarwal to his home cadre, Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Daljit Singh Chawdhary was given the additional charge of the force till the time a regular incumbent is appointed.
The Home Ministry said, “Premature repatriation of Nitin Agarwal to his parent cadre with immediate effect. The assignment of additional charge of the post of the DG (BSF) to the DG (SSB), Daljit Singh Chawdhary, upon repatriation of Agarwal till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.” On August 2, Agarwal, a 1989-batch IPS officer of the Kerala cadre, and his deputy, Special DG (West) YB Khurania were repatriated to respective state cadres with immediate effect amid the spurt of terror attacks in Jammu division of J&K.
