The Supreme Court Collegium led by CJI DY Chandrachud on Tuesday recommended Justice Narendar G of the Andhra Pradesh High Court to be appointed as the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court consequent upon the retirement of the incumbent Chief Justice Ritu Bahri on October 10.
“The Collegium is of the considered view that Mr Justice Narendar G is fit and suitable in all respects for being appointed as Chief Justice of the High Court of Uttarakhand,” a Collegium resolution stated.
Appointed as a Judge of the Karnataka High Court of on January 2, 2015, Justice Narendar was transferred to the Andhra Pradesh High Court on October 30, 2023 and he has been functioning there since then. He is the senior-most Judge in his parent High Court of Karnataka.
