For Aam Aadmi Party-ruled Punjab, which missed the showcase opportunity last year, the selection in the R-Day celebrations for 2025 marks a significant moment especially when the tableau of AAP-ruled Delhi was rejected by the committee of experts.

The Punjab exhibit, showcased alongside 31 others from 16 states and UTs, at Delhi Cantonment’’s Rashtriya Rangshala Shivir, is all about the richness of the border state’s culture. Baba Farid’s soulful Sufi music, vibrant colours of phulkari, grace of the turbans and boisterous beats marked Punjab’s presentation today. A pair of bullocks, mirroring the resilient spirit of Punjabi, stood out as the tableaux were unveiled at Rashtriya Rangshala Shivir.

The Haryana tableau showcased the might of digital India featuring the replica of a man on a laptop, holding the hand of a girl. The state’s growing emergence as sports capital of India also shone through the presentation which featured several Haryana players who bagged top sporting successes and medals.

The J&K exhibit featured intricately woven shawls, carpets, wood carvings and beautiful giant Kashmiri copper kettles, besides heritage buildings and rich tapestries with a lush green lawn and its magnificent chinars completing the look.
