Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said terrorist organisations responsible for the Pahalgam attack, which targeted India’s sovereignty, had been brought to justice by the Army through Operation Sindoor.

Virtually addressing from Delhi the launch of a BrahMos missile testing and integration facility in Lucknow, Singh highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism and said, “This is a new India that will take decisive action against terrorism, both within and across borders.”

“We have demonstrated that when India responds to terrorism, even territories beyond our borders will not remain safe for terrorists and their masters,” he said.

The Defence Minister said the entire nation applauded the Army for Operation Sindoor, which he described as not merely a military campaign but a reflection of India’s political will, social unity and strategic strength. The operation, he said, underscored India’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism and showcased the precision and might of its armed forces.

Singh highlighted that Operation Sindoor was launched with the specific objective of dismantling terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan. “While our forces never caused any harm to civilians, Pakistan not only targeted Indian civilian areas but also tried to attack places of worship, including temples, gurdwaras and churches,” he said.

The Army, with exceptional bravery and precision, struck multiple military installations deep inside Pakistan, sending a clear message. “Our operations were not confined to border areas, the Indian Army’s presence was felt as far as Rawalpindi, where the Pakistani army’s headquarters is located,” Singh stated.
