To expose Pakistan, first team leaves for UAE today

The Indian diplomatic outreach on Operation Sindoor through all-party delegations’ visits to key partner countries will start tomorrow with the first of the seven delegations set to leave for the UAE.

The first delegation, led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Eknath Shinde, will also travel to Congo, Sierra Leone and Liberia.

Over the next four days — till May 25 — the remaining six delegations will also leave the country to address audiences, policy makers and elected representatives in several countries.

In all, the delegations will visit 32 countries to convey New Delhi’s stance on terrorism following the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor.

The Indian delegations will take forward India’s anti-terror message and highlight that all terror links, both direct and indirect, can be traced to Pakistan.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri today briefed the delegations on the mode and purpose behind the outreach exercise.

During the meeting, the delegation leaders were informed that the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty was not a knee-jerk reaction.

A delegation led by Shashi Tharoor of the Congress will leave on May 25 and is scheduled to travel to the US, Brazil, Colombia, Guyana and Panama.

Another delegation led by Ravi Shankar Prasad of the BJP will also leave on May 25 and is scheduled to travel to France, Italy, Denmark, the UK, Belgium and Germany.

A delegation led by Sanjay Kumar Jha of the JD(U) will leave on May 22 and shall travel to Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Baijayant Panda of the BJP will lead a delegation to Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Algeria. It is scheduled to leave on May 23.

Kanimozhi Karunanidhi of the DMK will lead a delegation to Russia, Slovenia, Greece, Latvia and Spain. It will leave on May 22.

The delegation led by Supriya Sule of the NCP is scheduled to leave on May 24 to Qatar, South Africa, Ethiopia and Egypt.

The all-party delegations will project India’s national consensus and resolute approach to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. They will carry forth to the world the country’s strong message of zero-tolerance against terrorism.
