A pair of endangered Olive Ridley turtles was rescued by a team of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). The two turtles – a mother and her young offspring – were found entangled in abandoned fishing nets approximately 50 km southeast off the coast of West Bengal.

The turtles were seen from coast guard ship ICGS Kamla Devi when it was on a patrol in the Bay of Bengal.
