New Delhi, December 8

National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby stated that though India is a strategic partner with which the US wishes to deepen its ties in a wide range of areas, it nevertheless wants a full investigation by New Delhi into the plot to murder pro-Khalistan extremist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in New York and hold accountable those responsible.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
