Vaishnaw, Japan minister visit Guj high-speed rail site
The project is part of India’s first bullet train corridor.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Japanese Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Hiromasa Nakano, on Friday reviewed progress at the Surat High-Speed Rail (HSR) construction site. The project is part of India’s first bullet train corridor.
They examined the track slab laying car and the track slab adjustment facility, key components of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR project. Officials said both of them expressed satisfaction with the quality standards and commended the pace of work.
“The site visit reflects the continuing collaboration between India and Japan in implementing the country’s first high-speed rail network,” added the officials.
Earlier in the day, Nakano was accorded a traditional Garba welcome as he arrived in Surat before he joined Vaishnaw for the inspection.
