West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose on Friday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and is learnt to have discussed the current law and order situation in the state, in the aftermath of the alleged rape and murder of a junior doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar medical College and ensuing protests and demonstrations.

Bose is likely to provide a detailed report on the situation in West Bengal to the Centre amid speculations of the government evaluating various options even as the incident is being investigated by the CBI.
