A 35-year-old tribal woman was assaulted, disrobed and paraded by a mob led by her father-in-law in Gujarat’s Dahod over a suspected extramarital affair, after which 12 persons were arrested after a video of her ordeal went viral on social media, a police official said on Friday.

The incident took place on January 28, SP Rajdeepsinh Zala said. “The woman, who was locked inside the house by her father-in-law, was rescued,” he said.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
