Won’t allow land jihad, UCC soon: Uttarakhand CM
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Sunday that religious conversion, encroachments, “land jihad and spit jihad” will not be allowed in Uttarakhand. He called upon people to come forward to stop such things.
At a felicitation ceremony in Udham Singh Nagar district's Kichha, the CM said Uttarakhand was a “Devbhoomi” where everyone lived together. “But religious conversion will not be allowed, encroachments will not be allowed and ‘land and spit jihad’ will not be allowed,” he said.
Recently, two brothers were arrested for allegedly spitting in a tea pot and serving that tea to customers. Dhami said his government had been taking tough but necessary decisions. He mentioned the anti-copying law and anti-riot law and said the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) would be implemented in the state soon.
