Workshop on Khandana khanda khadya commences at National Sanskrit University
The inaugural ceremony of the international workshop on the textual study of Khandana khanda khadya of Sriharsa was held today at the National Sanskrit University, Tirupati. The event began with traditional lamp lighting and veda chanting, setting a spiritual tone for the workshop.
Khandana khanda khadya is a seminal philosophical text by Sriharsa, celebrated for its unique dialectical approach within the Advaita Vedanta tradition. This text is part of a broader tradition emphasising non-dualism and the ultimate reality of Brahman. The workshop aims to explore the textual nuances and philosophical implications of Sriharsa's work, contributing to ongoing discussions in Indian philosophy. The website www.vedamu.org was inaugurated during the event.
KR Paramahamsa, IAS (retd), was the chief guest and Acharya Rajnikanth Shukla (Dean, Education Department, National Sanskrit University) was the special guest at the event. Vice-Chancellor Acharya GSR Krishna Murthy, Advaita Vedanta, head of department, and other faculty members were also present.
The workshop featured talks by renowned scholars such as Mahamahopadyay Acharya Mani Dravid Sastriji (Madras Sanskrit College, Chennai), Acharya Raja Ram Shuklaji (Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi), and Dr KS Maheswaran (Madras Sanskrit College, Chennai).
Professors and research students from various universities across India and abroad participated in the workshop, which will continue till March 19.
