During a recent visit to Kutch, Gujarat, PM Modi met a group of women who had demonstrated remarkable bravery during the 1971 war by repairing the runway. These women presented the saplings to the Prime Minister, who promised to plant them at his residence.

The planting of the Sindoor sapling also serves as a mark of solidarity with women across the nation — particularly honouring the widows affected by the tragic April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 male civilians were killed.
