Yogi: Oppn doesn’t have the guts needed to run bulldozers
Close on the heels of the apex court coming down heavily on ‘bulldozer justice’, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath today defended the approach, saying it was not meant for the faint-hearted.
“You need guts to run a bulldozer. Those who bowed to the mafia and rioters do not have the courage to roll a bulldozer. In fact, they will have a heart attack at its very sight,” Yogi said, in response to predecessor and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, who had yesterday said bulldozers would be directed towards Gorakhpur, CM’s hometown, once SP came to power in the state.
Yadav made the comments while addressing SP workers in Gorakhpur on Tuesday evening and asked of Yogi, who has institutionalised bulldozer culture in the state, to apologise to those whose houses he had razed. “The Supreme Court has clearly said bulldozer use is unconstitutional. Will Adityanath now apologise for scaring people with bulldozers and razing the homes of those on whom he sought revenge?” asked Yadav.
The ex-CM also asked if the map of the CM residence in Lucknow was approved and added that the bulldozers would turn to Gorakhpur once SP came to power. Adityanath today said those making big announcements used to cower before mafia and rioters.
