With 13 more deaths, all from Kashmir, during the past 24 hours, the Covid toll in Jammu and Kashmir reached 561.

Fortyone patients have lost their lives in the Jammu province, while 520 deaths have been reported from the Kashmir valley.

The Union Territory (UT) recorded 434 new Covid cases, 88 from the Jammu division and 346 from the Kashmir valley, during the same period, taking the total number of positive cases to 29,326.

A total of 590 patients recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, 110 from the Jammu division and 480 from the Kashmir valley.

According to the official bulletin issued on Tuesday evening, out of the 29,326 positive cases, 6,879 were active positive, 21,886 had recovered and 561 had died, 41 in the Jammu division and 520 in the Valley.

The bulletin added that out of the 8,11,167 test results available, 7,81,841 samples had tested negative.

Till date, 41,8363 travellers and persons in contact with the suspected cases had been enlisted for observation which included 42,307 persons in home quarantine, including facilities operated by the government, 6,879 in isolation and 44,529 under home surveillance. Besides, 3,24,087 persons had completed their surveillance period.
