15-kanal prime land retrieved in Vijaypur

The district administration of Samba today carried out an anti-encroachment drive at Pehkri village in Vijaypur tehsil and demolished Anand Farms, the banquet hall, allegedly raised over the state land.
Giving details of the exercise, the officials concerned said 15 kanals of the prime state land, adjoining the National Highway, worth crores, had been encroached upon and the illegal banquet hall was operating under the proprietary Anand Farms.
The Revenue Department, after verification, submitted the report to the Deputy Commissioner, Samba, and carried out the anti-encroachment drive.
During the exercise, five JCB machines were pressed into service and various structures on the encroached land were demolished, including the main entrance gate, boundary walls, banquet hall, multiple rooms, parking area and other concrete structures.
The encroachment drive was carried out by a joint team of revenue and police officials, headed by Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Vijaypur, CP Kotwal, besides tehsildar, Samba, Avtar Jasrotia.
