Jammu, February 11

The Bari Brahmana police in Samba district have arrested two brothers for robbing and injuring a man with sharp-edged weapons. The duo impersonated as policemen during the commission of the crime.

The accused have been identified as Bachan Lal and Lovely Kumar, both resident of Smailpur in Bari Brahmana.

The police have arrested the accused and charged them under Sections 34, 323, 382 and 419 of the Indian Penal Code, and Sections 4 and 25 of the Arms Act.

“An incident had come to light in which two persons attacked and looted a victim in broad daylight by using sharp-edged weapons. After registering an FIR at the Bari Brahmana police station, the police arrested the criminals within three hours,” an official said.

The police have recovered two sharp-edged weapons, a police jacket, an Army jacket and one police cap from the accused.

“The arrest sends a strong signal to anti-social elements that, there will be zero tolerance for any criminal activity in Samba district,” the official said.
