The injured include Sania Kosar (10), daughter of Mohammad Shabir, and Haji Mohammad Rafiq (65).

“Immediately after information of injuries, both the injured were rescued in a police vehicle amid mortar shelling and were shifted to Medical College Hospital at Rajouri in an ambulance” said Manjoor Kohli, SHO.

He further said some goats were also injured and a joint team of the Police and Revenue Department is in the village to assess the losses.

Meanwhile, a bomb disposal team of the Army today defused a live mortar shell fired by the Pakistan army on the spot in the Qasim Nagar area in Mendhar tehsil in Poonch district.

The border dwellers in J&K are presently living under two constant threats — one fierce skirmishes on the border and Covid-19 pandemic.
