2 more test positive in UTs; count 7

Two more samples of patients, one each in J&K and Ladakh, suffering from Covid-19 have tested positive, taking the total number of infected persons to seven in the two Union Territories.
According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, three Covid confirmed cases have been reported in J&K so far, while four confirmed cases have been found in Ladakh.
Till yesterday, the number of Coronavirus infected persons in J&K was two and three in Ladakh. However, the administrations of the two UTs are yet to confirm fresh cases.
In his daily press conference here on Monday afternoon, Bhupinder Kumar, Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), said a person with a travel history to Saudi Arabia was reported with “high viral load” and had been kept in isolation.
“His samples have been sent to Pune for testing. The report is awaited,” he said.
The UT administration has also ordered closure of all hotels at famous hill resort Patnitop, in Udhampur district, with immediate effect till March 31, while Rajouri district administration has decided to shut all shopping malls, gyms and eating joints.
According to the UT administration, a total of 2,478 travellers and persons in contact with the suspected cases have been put under surveillance across Jammu and Kashmir, while J&K has reported another case of a “high viral load” in a patient, who has been shifted to an isolated ward.
