4,500 left post attacks, claim Kashmiri Pandits

Srinagar, July 27
Nearly 4,500 Kashmiri Pandit (KP) employees and their families left the Valley in the wake of targeted civilian killings this year. Kashmiri Pandit leaders say nearly 40 per cent of the 1,200 employees stationed at different transit camps across Kashmir left the Valley and “almost all employees” living in private accommodations migrated to Jammu after the targeted attacks.
Only 380 KP families are residing at seven transit camps in Kashmir, claims Ashwini Pandita, a leader of the All-Minorities Employees Association Kashmir. “There are 150 employees each in Vessu and Sheikhpora camps. Their number before the migration was 450 and 350,” he says.

in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is
run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any
bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and
partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense
of the term.
The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
