With four fresh deaths, the Covid-19 toll in the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) has reached 159.

Meanwhile, 387 new cases were reported during the past 24 hours and 91 patients cured and recovered from different hospitals.

According to the official bulletin issued this evening, 387 cases tested positive, 97 from the Jammu division and 290 from the Kashmir division, taking the total number of cases in J&K to 9,888. Out of the total positive cases, 2,769 have a travel history in different parts of the country.

The border district of Rajouri recorded 51 cases, single-day highest-ever cases on Friday.

“Sorry to share, highest-ever spike of Covid cases in the district. Fiftyone, including 16 from Draj red zone, 20 from Rajouri, Ghamir, IRP, DPL, Nagesh Bridge Thanamandi, Manjakote, Muradpur Palma, Kakora and another 14 from different districts or outside parts with travel history,” Thakur Sher Singh, ADC, Rajouri, tweeted.
