In all, 50 girls attended an ice hockey basic skills coaching camp at Leh and were trained players of the Indian women’s team and Ladakh Women Ice Hockey Foundation. The camp concluded on Tuesday.
The camp is part of the annual programme on ice hockey during winter to impart the skills of the sport. The camp was organised from December 24 to 31, by converting Guphuk pond near Spithuk village into an ice hockey rink.
The camp was funded by the District Administration and the District Youth Services and Sports under the Khelo India Scheme.
Harjinder Singh, general secretary, Ice Hockey Association of India, who is in Leh these days, visited the participants on the concluding day of the camp and distributed the certificates among the participants.
