60 CRPF men among 260 test positive in J&K
Six succumb to virus; highest single-day spike in fatalities

Six persons died of coronavirus (highest single-day spike in deaths) and 260 others tested positive for the virus in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

There were 60 paramilitary CRPF personnel among them, taking the Union Territory’s death toll to 101 and caseload to 7,497.
The six patients who died in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday are a man (45) from Bijbehara, Anantnag, a man (65) from Srinagar, a youth (23) from Shopian, a man (55) from Bhaghat, Srinagar, a man (52), from Baramulla, and a woman (85), from Kuthua.
So far, 101 persons have died of Covid in Jammu and Kashmir and a majority of them (89) in Kashmir and 12 in Jammu.
“In J&K, 260 new positive cases have been reported since our last update yesterday, which include 32 from Jammu and 228 from Kashmir. Also, six Covid deaths have been reported from Jammu and Kashmir,” reads the media bulletin on novel coronavirus.
At least, 137 Covid patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals of J&K, reads the bulletin.
Srinagar district has reported 24 deaths, the highest in any district in J&K. Baramulla (16), Kulgam (13), Shopian (12), Jammu (7), Budgam (7), Anantnag (7), Kupwara (5), Pulwama (4), Udhampur (1), Kathua (1), Rajouri (1), Doda (1), Bandipora (1) and Poonch (1) make up the rest of the union territory’s death toll.
