The police on Monday nabbed an absconder in the Banihal area of Jammu after 16 years.

The accused, Rajpaul Singh of Ludhiana, Punjab, was evading arrest for the last 16 years in a case registered in 2003 at Banihal police station.

He was arrested by a team headed by Banihal SHO Abid Hussain Bhukhar under the overall supervision of Ramban SSP Anita Sharma.

Pertinently, the J&K Police have launched a drive across the UT against the absconders who have been evading arrest for the past several years. The motive behind the drive is to bring the accused before the court of law. — OC
