Meanwhile, the J&K National Panthers Party (JKNPP) chairman Bhim Singh has claimed that the detention of former J&K Chief Minister is illegal and unconstitutional.
Singh expressed surprise at the “mala fide exercise” of the J&K authorities for extending the detention of former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah, for three months. He expressed shock at “this kind of misuse of authority by the J&K Administration under the President’s Rule”.
“I advise Dr Farooq Abdullah’s legal advisors, counsels to file a damage petition against the mala fide detention of the former Chief Minister. I am ready to offer free legal aid in this regard,” said Singh.
JKNPP chairman urged the President of India to use his prerogative and release all former chief ministers from detention with all others from MLA hostel, private hotels, guest houses where hundreds of Kashmiri political activists have been lodged since August 5.
