The Adviser to Lt-Governor, Baseer Ahmed Khan, today visited Doda and inspected various development works being executed under various schemes of the Rural Development Department (RDD), including MGNREGA and PMAY.
The Adviser also met various PRI and ULB representatives, besides members of various political parties and took stock of their concerns.
The Adviser, during his tour to the district, visited Malhori Panchayat of Khaleni block and inspected the ongoing works on a path being constructed from Ragi to Bati. He interacted with the local people and took feedback about the development activities going on in their area.
He also visited Paryote panchayat and inspected the ongoing works on an irrigation pond, sewerage drain and a PMAY house.
While interacting with the locals, the Adviser enquired about their grievances and development needs besides taking stock of the status of various schemes being implemented in the area.
The Adviser directed the departments concerned to ensure timely completion of all development works besides ensuring early release of payments to the workers. He also advised the workers to ensure strict adherence to Covid-related SOPs and guidelines during the execution of works.
Responding to the issue of shortage of staff in the RDD, the Adviser informed that the government had already notified about 2,000 posts of Accounts Assistant for filling on fast-track basis. He assured that the vacant posts of BDOs would be filled soon.
