Jammu, June 24
Following controversy over the appointment of radiographic technicians under the controversial SRO(statutory rules and order) -202 policy, Government Medical College (GMC), Rajouri, today rescinded its order and sought a clarification from the Health Department to decide on the future of selected candidates.
On June 15, the Union Territory administration had announced not to conduct any fresh recruitment under the controversial SRO-202, which was introduced by the previous PDP-BJP government in 2015.
“We have rescinded the order and written to the Administrative Department to guide as to how to proceed further in this particular case. The selections have been made by the JKSSB on the basis of written test conducted for the post last year,” Dr Kuldeep Singh, Principal, GMC, Rajouri, said.
A total of seven radio technicians under the divisional cadre Jammu were appointed under SRO-202 in the GMC, Rajouri. The appointment order brought criticism from different quarters with stakeholders seeking clarification on the government’s announcement of abolishing SRO-202.
Under SRO-202, it was mandatory for the newly recruited employees to undergo probation for a period of five years.
During the probation, the appointee would be entitled to the minimum pay scale along with the grade pay applicable to the post against which he was appointed.
