Jammu, November 20

Jahangir Shafi, Chief Agriculture Officer, Command Area Development, Jammu, visited farmers’ field of Jakh, Sarore and other areas of Samba district. Shafi inspected the first pick of button mushroom at the demonstration-cum-training centre, Rakh Dhyansar.

The centre has established 600 bags of button mushroom where a yield of 8 to 9 quintals of button mushroom is expected this year. He said the cultivation of mushroom boosted farmers’ income. He asked them to diversify their farming through apiculture, mushroom and adoption of good agriculture practices to achieve the goal of doubling their income by 2022. — TNS
