He has gained a productive experience of serving in three states/UTs including Mizoram, Ladakh and J&K.
Being an IT and Digital India champion, which has been recognised numerous times at various national and international platforms, Sharma hold the unique distinction of consecutively serving three states/UTs in a row as IT Secretary, beginning from J&K, followed by Ladakh and currently, Mizoram.
He served multiple departments in Ladakh in his capacity as Administrative Secretary of IT, Transport, Rural Development, Disaster Management and Science & Technology. Before this, Sharma made contribution while being Secretary Mining J&K through his special initiative of pushing GSI towards discovery of 5.9 million tons of Lithium in Reasi district. He also introduced maiden concept of e-Challans for mining of minor minerals in J&K to ensure total transparency and accountability while conducting mining activities in the UT.
