Army retaliates as Pak violates ceasefire again

Tensions remain high along the Line of Control (LoC) after Pakistan violated the ceasefire by firing on Indian positions late Wednesday evening in Poonch’s Krishna Ghati sector. The incident occurred a day after the Army foiled an infiltration attempt by Pakistani soldiers and terrorists in the same area.

According to sources, fresh gunfire was reported from across the LoC, prompting a swift retaliation from Indian forces. “Firing was heard on Wednesday evening and continued for some time. No further ceasefire violations have been reported since then,” a source confirmed.

The Army remains in full operational control of the sector. On Wednesday morning, an Army spokesperson provided details of the earlier ceasefire violation. “On April 1, a mine blast occurred in Krishna Ghati sector while the Pakistan Army was patrolling along the LoC. This was followed by unprovoked firing and ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army. Own troops responded effectively. The Indian Army continues to dominate the LoC. The situation is under control,” the statement read.

Following intelligence inputs of possible terrorist infiltration, security measures along the LoC have been further strengthened. The Army remains vigilant to prevent any attempts by militants to cross into Indian Territory.
