The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday issued the order of the transfer of senior IAS officer Ashish Kundra of AGMUT cadre and belonging to 1996 batch, from Delhi to the Union Territory of Ladakh, appointing him as the new Chief Secretary.

The appointment will take effect from January 1, 2026, or from the date he assumes charge, whichever is later.

Kundra, currently serving in the Delhi administration, will move to Ladakh as its top bureaucrat at a time when the Union Territory is undergoing administrative restructuring and expansion of developmental projects.
