Jammu and Kashmir Police have busted two overground worker (OGW) modules of LeT and arrested four people in north Kashmir.

A police spokesperson said Bandipora Police had received information that some overground worker affiliated with LeT had hatched a criminal conspiracy on directions of their handlers and were waiting for a chance to attack police /security forces and non-locals.

Acting on this information, police launched a manhunt and special nakas and during checking two persons, identified as Mohammad Rafiq and Mukhtar Ahmad Dar, were apprehended, he added.

Illegal arms and ammunition, including a Chinese hand grenade, were recovered from their possession, said the spokesperson.

In another incident, police had established a joint naka at Sadunara Ajas and during checking two suspects, identified as Rayees Ahmad Dar and Mohd Shafi Dar, were apprehended and illegal arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession. During interrogation, they admitted to be overground worker of LeT and were tasked to target police/security forces.
