Bhaderwah, April 26
In Bhaderwah town of Doda district, a family has set an example of brotherhood and hospitality by hosting three persons from Maharashtra since the lockdown.
The trio from Pune is putting up with the Maliks for the past 45 days. They had arrived in Bhaderwah on March 15 and were shooting a documentary when the lockdown was announced.
“They were scared and distressed when they came to know about the cancellation of their flights from Jammu. They had nowhere to go when I came to know about them. I offered them to stay at my place and they agreed,” said Nazim Malik.
The family happily serves the guests even in Ramzan while they are on a fast.
Malik said during the initial days of the lockdown, the guests looked worried but now they are happy. “They are like part of the family and want to visit us again. Even if I have to host them for two years, my family is ready,” he said.
Malik has received calls of appreciation from the Lieutenant Governor’s office as well as the local magistrate, who offered him help.
“The Almighty has given me everything and I don’t need any help. The appreciation from the L-G’s office is everything for me,” he said.
The local administration had taken the three for administrative quarantine. To make them feel safe and home, Malik sent his son with them so that they would not feel distressed. Even the Pune administration has appreciated Malik’s gesture.
