BJP has milked issue of our exodus: Kashmiri Pandits body
The Panun Kashmir, an organisation of Kashmiri Pandit migrants, has alleged that successive governments have failed to address the migration of the community in proper perspective and have done nothing for their rehabilitation and resettlement back in Valley.
Ajay Chrungoo, chairman of the Panun Kashmir, said, “The BJP has milked the issue of exodus of Kashmiri Pandits across the country in almost all elections since 1990s.”
Saffron party no longer a saviour
The BJP government at the Centre and the J&K administration have left their predecessors behind in the denial of Hindu genocide. It is no longer a saviour, but stands tall as a culprit
of abetment and denial of the most heinous crime against humanity going on unabated in Kashmir. —Ajay Chrungoo, Chairman, Panun Kashmir
“At the same time, the BJP government at the Centre and the J&K administration have left their predecessors behind in the denial of Hindu genocide. The party has transformed itself into a vehicle of consolidation of genocide. It is no longer a saviour, but stands tall as a culprit of the abetment and denial of the most heinous crime against humanity going on unabated in Kashmir.”
At a press conference held in Jammu, the Panun Kashmir stated that the government had denied the “genocide of Kashmiri Hindus as migration”.
Chrungoo said as the election process takes off, internally displaced Hindus of Kashmir are face to face with yet another election conducted by the Government of India without addressing their genocide and religious cleansing followed by their exile.
“The Hindus of Kashmir continue to be in exile forced by the perpetrators of genocide. They continue to face the double attrition of Genocide and the Denial of Genocide. They will be once again be witness to a vicious drama which would project their participation in the elections as the victory of democracy whereas in reality, these elections serve as a means of their further exclusion.”
“All those interested in the integrity of the democratic process in J&K should bear in mind that the architecture of voting in exile is such that the votes of internally displaced Hindus have become captive electoral vote-banks. The process of enrolment of voters as well as voting had assumed sinister and criminal dimensions long ago. The votes through deceit, false promises, and stratagem as well as without consent have been transferred to areas from where Hindus have been cleansed only to create a hostage vote bank,” Chrungoo said.
Kashmiri Pandit voters residing in different parts of Jammu region and New Delhi vote for their constituencies in Valley.
Chrungoo said, “The Panun Kashmir has no hesitation in stating that the way the Government of India has conducted the democratic process in J&K, it has lead only to rehabilitation of separatist forces and transformation of the democratically elected governments into internal support structures of separatism and terrorist enterprise.”
