Lt-Governor of J&K Girish Chander Murmu on Tuesday appointed former Chief Secretary and retired IAS officer Braj Raj Sharma as the new chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC). An order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) here stated that Sharma would hold the position till he attains the age of 62 years. A 1984-batch IAS officer of the J&K cadre, Sharma was appointed as the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Chairman in October last year. On April 20, he was re-employed as the SSC Chairman for two more years up to April 30, 2022. — TNS
