Briefs: Forest fire triggers mine blast along LoC in Poonch
A forest fire on Thursday triggered mine blasts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, officials said. There were no casualties or injuries, they said.
The forest fire in the forward areas of Gursai, Ucchad, and Prambranar, as well as the border belts, has been raging for the past few days. Several mines exploded due to the fire. Efforts by the forest department, fire services, police, Army, and locals are underway to control the blaze, they said.
Search operation in Mendhar areas
Security forces have launched a search operation in the border areas of Poonch district following inputs regarding suspicious movement, officials said.
The search operation was conducted by security forces and police in forward areas of Mendhar on Thursday. It is part of the alertness of troops against suspicious movements they said.
