Briefs: Police solve 10-yr-old fraud case, one held
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have successfully solved a decade-old fraud case in Baramulla district and arrested the accused involved in criminal activity.
A police spokesperson said the 10-year-old case dating back to 2016 was registered at Boniyar Police Station under Section 420 of the RPC. It was solved with the arrest of Manoj Das, a resident of Deoghar in Jharkhand, who was involved in an online bank fraud case amounting of Rs 90,000, he added. “Further investigation is underway,” the spokesperson said. 30 injured as mini-bus turns turtle
Jammu: At least 30 passengers, mostly women, were injured when their mini-bus turned turtle on a hilly road in the Reasi district on Sunday, officials said. Two of the 30 are seriously injured and they have been rushed the GMCH, Jammu.
The accident took place near Tara Morh when the bus was on its way to Pouni in Reasi from Moughla in Rajouri district, the officials said. They said 30 passengers, including 22 women, were injured in the accident and were hospitalised.
Two of the seriously injured persons — Rafaqat Ali and Goutam Sharma — were referred to Government Medical College hospital Jammu for specialised treatment, the officials said. — PTI
IED recovered in Kupwara
Srinagar: A terror incident was averted when Army and BSF personnel recovered an IED in north Kashmir’s Kupwara on Sunday. Srinagar-based Chinar Corps stated on X, “Army and BSF averted a terror incident today by recovering and destroying an IED in general area Narikut Forest, Kupwara.” “Indian Army remains resolute in its commitment to keep Kashmir terror-free,” the Army said. — OC
