BSF team rewarded for shooting down drone

Days after the Border Security Force (BSF) shot down an arms-laden Pakistan drone along the international border (IB) in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district, Jammu, and Kashmir police chief Dilbagh Singh visited the Samba border area to review the close coordination between different security agencies in view of the rainy season.

Singh also rewarded the BSF team who shot down the Pakistani hexa-copter drone on June 20. Singh was accompanied by Inspector General (IG), BSF, Jammu Frontier, NS Jamwal, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, IGP, Jammu, Mukesh Singh, DC, Samba, Rohit Khajuria and representatives from other civil agencies and the BSF officers.

An official spokesperson of the BSF said, “During the visit, the DGP and other officers supervised the flood protection work in Basanter river and asked the farmers to sow crops with less height on the river bed as the soil is fertile and the land is not wasted”.

‘Geelani’s letter reflects frustration’

DGP, J&K, Dilbag Singh on Tuesday said the letter written by hardcore separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani before dissociating himself from the Hurriyat Conference was a reflection of frustration and a feeling of failure among those exploiting younger generation for petty personal gains.
