Building raided in gun license case

Pursuing the recovery of 435 forged gun licenses recently, Jammu police on Tuesday raided premises in Karan Bagh area.
Police on July 25 police raided an under-construction building in Gadigarh area near Harward College and recovered 435 forged gun licenses. A case under Sections 318(4), 339, 336,340(2), 61(2) BNS was registered at Satwari police station and investigation was set into motion.
While investigating the case, the police came to know that more licenses are expected to be hidden in Karan Bagh area where the raid was conducted on Tuesday.
Sources said that some documents were seized related to the case from the premises where raid was conducted. However the nature of documents was not divulged.
The police had earlier recovered forged gun licenses from an under-construction building owned by one Tirath Singh, who owns two gun houses.
“Based on an input, a raid was conducted in the presence of a magistrate at the building and a bag containing 435 gun licenses was recovered along with some other documents,” an official informed.
