The Sheep Husbandry Department today organised an awareness camp in Fotolalok village in Leh. Lamayuru constituency Councillor Dr Murup Dorjay was chief guest on the occasion. “He elaborated to the villagers about the importance of sheep and goat rearing
for organic farming and sustainable development,” a spokesman for the Ladakh Government said.
He added, “District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Leh, Dr Tsewang Murup informed the villagers about various programmes to be rolled out in 2024-25 for livestock management at the village level and pilot projects to be carried out in selected villages for livestock revival for organic development and scientific intervention to be introduced in these pilot villages.”
“The Block Sheep Husbandry Officer, Khaltse, Dr Tsewang Dolma gave details of livestock rearing, management and different schemes and their benefits to farmers,” the spokesman said. Several officials from Sheep Husbandry Department and farmers were present at the camp. The Councillor also distributed incentives to beneficiaries.
