A chronic heart diseases (CHD) medical detection camp for free was organised by Rotary Club, Udhampur, in collaboration with Gift of Life Trust (New Delhi), Rotary Club of Delhi Mid West, Delhi East End and Fortis Escort Heart Institute, New Delhi, at KLSM Rotary Eye and ENT Hospital here today.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Piyush Singla inaugurated the camp in presence of Rtn AC Peter, National co-coordinator, Gift of Life; Rtn HMP Singh, chairman Gift of Life Trust (Delhi NCR); Rtn DN Sharma, co-coordinator Gift of Life; Rtn Col Hargovind Singh (retd), President Rotary Club, Udhampur, with other club members.
Objective of the camp was to screen persons, under the age of 18, who had acute heart problems and were from weaker sections of society.
In all, 107 patients were examined. Out of which, 45 were selected for free surgeries by competent doctors of Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi. These patients were examined after going through their latest echocardiography reports, ECG etc.
PP Rtn Rajeev Gupta, Rotary Club, Udhampur also arranged for tea and meals to be served to the patients.
