New Delhi, August 21

In view of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP on Wednesday asked the Congress leader to clear his party’s stand on abrogated Article 370 and Article 35-A.

BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh said Rahul’s visit would introduce him to the “peace and development” ushered in the region by the government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Taking a dig at the Congress, National Conference and PDP, Chugh said three families stoked embers of separatism and terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir with their policies for several decades before the BJP-led the Central Government turned things around after 2014.

“Kashmir is now identified with tourism and not terrorism,” said Chugh, who is also the party’s organisational in-charge for the UT. He said the erstwhile state saw brisk polling in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
