The controversy over Congress veteran Digvijay Singh’s remarks about revocation of Article 370 in J&K refused to die down with the BJP fielding Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad to corner the grand old party and seek its comments on the issue.

“It is now more than a day when the central leadership of the Congress is maintaining a conspicuous silence on its stand about Article 370. Does the Congress want restoration of Article 370 as Digvijay Singh has indicated? Time of silence is over. Please explain your clear stand,” Prasad tweeted a day after his ministerial colleagues Jitendra Singh, Giriraj Singh and Kiren Rijiju asked Congress President Sonia Gandhi for an explanation.

Digvijay Singh had on Saturday stated in a conversation on social media network ‘Clubhouse’ that the August 5, 2019 decision of the government to revoke Article 370 and ending the statehood of J&K was very sad and the Congress would certainly have to have a relook at it (if voted to power). — TNS
