Class XI girl ends life in Akhnoor

A girl student allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a river in Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor area on Monday.

The police said A Class XI student of Higher Secondary School, RS Pura, who is also a resident of RS Pura committed suicide by jumping into a river in Akhnoor under mysterious circumstance.

“The body of the girl has been retrieved. We have shifted her body for post-mortem at Akhnoor hospital. We have not found any suicide note from the spot, but we talked to her familyand nothing concrete has been found so far, “the Station House Officer, Gharota, said.

“We are investigating thoroughly to know the reason behind the extreme step.” the officer said.
