Concrete steps will be taken to facilitate sportspersons: Mathur

Lt-Governor of Ladakh Radha Krishna Mathur today lauded the athletes for earning laurel for Ladakh during recent athletic events in different parts of India.
This was stated by the Lt-Governor during an interaction organised for them at Raj Niwas in Leh.
Lt-Governor Mathur appreciated the fact that despite limited resources in terms of professional training, diet plan, medical facilities and other prerequisites, the runners excelled in their sport to make Ladakhis known among the professionals of the country.
Mathur, in an interaction with the athletes, mentioned taking some concrete steps in the near future to facilitate the sports fraternity to encourage youngsters to participate in sports of their choice.
The runners had participated in various marathons held across the nation this winter, in particular, and other events, in general. In the IDBI Marathon held in Delhi on February 23, all the top three positions in the 21.1k Half Marathon in the women’s category was won by girls from Ladakh. Also, all other athletes have also made Ladakh proud by winning positions in different categories.
