J&K Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra on Monday announced that the party would hold a protest march to Raj Bhawan Jammu on December 18 as part of the nationwide protest on the issue of restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and the situation in Manipur.

Karra, during a meeting, said that Manipur continues to reel under an unprecedented crisis marked by continuous violence, including shootouts, curfews and widespread lawlessness. “Despite the severity of the crisis, the BJP-led governments, both at the Centre and the state, have utterly failed to address or mitigate the situation. Shockingly, the PM is yet to visit Manipur and the utterly inept CM still clings to power, further highlighting the indifference towards this dire situation” Karra said.

He said that in response to these pressing issues, besides early restoration of statehood to J&K, the Pradesh Congress Committee would organise Raj Bhawan March on December 18. The march will start from party headquarters at Shaheedi Chowk at 11 am.
