Cops attach property of terrorist aide in Shopian
Shopian police on Monday attached a double-storied residential property of a terror associate. A police spokesperson said the property belonged to Ilyas Ahmad Dar, a resident of Wandina Melhoura. The attachment was carried out under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA).
“The attachment has been officially recorded in the revenue records, and the necessary legal notices prohibiting its sale or transfer have been duly issued under the provisions of the UAPA,” the spokesperson said.
He said the action is linked to a case registered at Zainapora police station and was executed ensuring full compliance with legal procedures.
The attachment marks a significant milestone in the ongoing crackdown on unlawful and subversive activities in the region, he added.
“It underscores the firm commitment of Shopian Police to neutralising threats to national security and maintaining peace and order,” the spokesperson said.
